APRA AMCOS is all about fostering respect and value for songs and songwriters. We help music creators get paid for their work and give people easy ways to legally play and copy music.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to play a key role in producing effective and engaging events and content for our Members – the songwriters and composers of Aotearoa NZ. This is a Parental Leave contract for a minimum of 15 months, ideally starting May 2022.

This position will work closely with the Communications Representative and Member Services team. The role is fast-paced and challenging, we are looking for someone with a varied skillset, solid work ethic and strong time management skills to step into this position at the heart of the Aotearoa NZ music industry.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring effective communications and events (both online and in person) around many different aspects of the music community are delivered to our songwriter members
  • APRA Silver Scroll Awards | Kaitito Kaiaka – award administration and event production for the 2022 and 2023 Awards
  • Award administration – collating entries and working with external providers for our various Song Awards (eg. Children’s Music Awards, Country Music Award, Jazz Awards, Pacific Music Awards, Waiata Māori Music Awards)

Skills we are looking for:

  • Confident communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Proven project or event management experience
  • Excellent organiser, detail orientated and able to meet deadlines
  • Appreciation of the value of music
